Hot Tub Insulation Kit FAQ's
Is the insulation easy to cut?
Yes, use some regular scissors to cut it. Pull the fabric tight to make cutting easier.
How do you insulate a hot tub with the kit?
It's a relatively simple process.
1. Before you order a kit, ensure you have done the measurements for your tub. You'll need to ensure the height and circumference suit the kit (1.2m high and 10m circumference).
2. Using the perimeter dimensions you recorded, add 70mm. Unroll the insulation material and cut to the measurements. Stretching the insulation before cutting is advisable.
3. Take off all the spa side and corner panels. Start at a corner. Thread the insulation blanket behind the main panels or structure, ensuring it hugs the top and bottom of the spa. Tape or staple it in place if you need to.
4. Aiming to be as neat as possible, continue to thread it behind the main frame of the spa till you go all the way around the spa's cabinet and meet at the corner you started at. Aim to cover all elements, such as the main control box, pumps and heater, with the blanket. The only thing that should be exposed is the main frame of the spa.
5. Use the tape to connect the blanket's two sides and to the tub structure's top and bottom. We need this to be as airtight as possible, so take your time and do it right the first time.
6. Replace your spa's panels carefully and tightly, ensuring they do not damage the insulation installation.
Perfect, now you have a perfectly insulated spa.

What hot tub size will this kit cover?
The maximum height for your hot tub is 1.2m. This height falls within the typical range for spas, making it appropriate for most models. Ensure that the circumference doesn't exceed 10 meters because if it does, you'll need the larger kit that covers 20m.
Where do you ship to and what are the costs?
We offer free shipping to the UK. We will ship the insulation on the next working day if we get the order before 1 pm. We don't ship anywhere else.

What measures can hot tub owners take to improve energy efficiency?
Before splashing out on expensive products and services, you can improve your spa's energy efficiency by taking a few simple measures.
- Ensure the hot tub's cover is not worn out; covers can lose up to 60% of the hot tub's heat.
- Check that the side panels are good quality and are in good condition. Gaps and cracks in panels will leak heat out.
- Assess the spa's location - is it in a windy area? It may look nice at the top of the garden tiers overlooking the view, but those northern winds will cost you.
- Optimise your filtration cycles to times when you need them running and utilise holiday and economy modes if you have them.
- Secure the cover properly using clips to avoid warm air escaping and cold air entering.
- Clean and replace filters regularly. Dirty, clogged filters will affect the flow and add resistance.
- Get your hot tub serviced at least annually. A spa technician can spot and resolve issues like blockages, airlocks, and pumps or heaters starting to underperform.
What about heat pumps for hot tubs?
You can only go with an insulated hot tub, and heat pumps are an efficient and eco-friendly solution for heating spas. They can improve efficiency by up to 75% if you have not heard. These devices operate on the principle of heat transfer as a pose to heat generation.
A spa heat pump uses electricity to draw in the ambient air and extract heat (even when very cold) from it. The heat is then amplified by the heat pump and transferred to the hot tub. This extraction-amplification-transfer process uses far less energy than traditional electric spa heaters that generate heat.
Heat pumps will easily maintain the desired temperature of your hot tub, even in cooler climates like ours, ensuring an enjoyable hot tub experience without worry. Their low operating costs, combined with reduced carbon emissions, make them an attractive option for hot tub owners looking to enjoy their spas more sustainably.
